Hip joint labral tears

The hip joint has a labrum (a ring of cartilage that helps hold the head of the femur in the socket on the pelvic bone). A tear in the labrum can increase the risk of developing osteoarthritis.

Tears in the labrum can cause a 'catching' feeling in the hip, pain in the hip or groin and stiffness around the hip joint.

Physiotherapy strengthens the muscles around the hip joint, increases mobility and reduces the pain and functional limitations associated with labrum tears.
