Osteoporosis and exercise

Osteoporosis causes bones to loose calcium which makes them more likely to fracture. Regular exercise reduces the rate of bone loss, conserves bone tissue and lowers the risk of fractures. Balance and strengthening exercises also reduce the risk of falling.
