Will physiotherapy help my shoulder pain?

According to a recent article in the British Medical Journal (‘ Ask the expert: assessment of shoulder pain in primary care’ Murphy and Bintcliffe, BMJ 15th July 2023; 382:p1255) there is good evidence to support the benefits of physiotherapy for the management of subacromial pain syndrome (SAPS).

SAPS is a broad term that covers:-

  1. Rotator cuff tears and tendonopathy

  2. Subacromial bursitis

  3. Shoulder impingement

  4. Calcification tendinitis

  5. Biceps tendinitis
